GOM player is one of the most flexible media player available today aside from VLC. I even like it more than the default Windows Media player. Why? GOM can play MKV movie file while Windows Media player cannot.

I am also amazed that it can also play live streaming m3u8 links like the VLC player. As long as you have your direct streaming link then you can directly watch it inside the GOM player.

The advantage of using GOM player while watching a live streaming are the following:

1. If you are a little in into coding and you can directly get the m3u8 link of a live streaming that you wanted to watch, then it will allow you to watch the stream with out annoying ads that contains viruses, malwares, and adwares.

2. Watching live streaming using internet browser like Google Chrome consumes a lot memory compared to watching it using your GOM player.

Now, to start watching a live streaming via GOM you need the following:

a. GOM player installed
b. A fast internet connection to watch the live streaming without lag
c. The m3u8 link of the live stream that you wanted to watch.

STEPS:

1. We will start first by getting the m3u8 link of the live streaming, but I will just give a link to make this article short. The m3u8 link is available below.

2. Copy the link and open your GOM player. IF you do not have one download and install it first. Assuming that you have an installed GOM, open it.

3. When opened, press Ctrl + U to open a URL and paste the URL in the field provided. After pasting click OK to load the live stream. See the sample image below.

4. Wait for the live stream to load completely.

5. After some time, your live streaming will be loaded if the link is correct and still valid. The live streaming image below is for UNTV a local channel here in the Philippines.
