As a webmaster, your blog or website must be mobile-friendly because unlike before, websites are mostly accessible using laptop or desktop computers only. But now, more internet users are using their mobile phone to access the world wide web.

If your website is not very good when it comes to mobile view, then your readers might not stick or come back on your website anymore after just one visit. The good thing is, most of the Wordpress and Blogger templates today are made to be responsive and you do not have to worry about the look of your website when viewing using a mobile phone or even tablet.

As a blogger who earns income online using my different websites, for the last few years I noticed that there are more visitors coming from mobile phones compared to desktop or laptop computer users.

Well, to test whether your website is looking good on mobile phone is a little tricky because you need to use a phone to visit your own website. But thanks to Google, their browser alone can do the task and you do not need to use a mobile phone anymore.

Now, follow the simple steps below for you to be able to view your website or blog using Google Chrome only.

STEPS:

1. First, visit the website that you wanted to see the mobile view. For this tutorial, I will use sharingthat.xyz as an example.

2. Go to your Google Chrome's Menu by clicking the 3 dots located near the exit button > More Tools > Developer Tools. You can also try the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + I.

3. When inside the Developer Tools, click the "Toggle Device Toolbar" icon. See the image below for visual sample of this step.

4. After pressing the Toggle Device Toolbar, your website or blog will be now on mobile view. See the image below.

5. To change the view to a mobile that you want, just click Responsive and change it to for example Galaxy S5. And you will immediately see the effect.

6. Now, Change Zoom from 40% to 100% to see the actual mobile view of your website using Galaxy S5.

7. When done, you will see the same mobile view below.

 8. You can also try to change from Portrait to Landscape by pressing the Rotate button. The image below is already in landscape view.

9. If you wanted to add more emulators to test the view of your website. Just click the Emulator menu and then press "Edit".

10. Just check the Emulated Devices available and all that you wanted to be used in testing.

11. To switch from normal view, just click the Exit button.

12. Done!

Note:

  • There are also some websites that offers free mobile viewing of your own website. And you can also try them for free. You can just Google search it.
