For this post, I will share you how to safely remove your USB device on your laptop or desktop computer using a program called USB Disk Ejector.

Safely Remove USB devices using USB Disk Ejector

I used this software because during my past years of using my laptop, it came to the point that  the safely remove icon located in the Taskbar's system tray isn't there. So I searched the net for some solutions and it led me to download the USB Disk Ejector and install it on my laptop. All I can say is, so far so good for this program. It is not that heavy and will not effect the performance of your laptop at all.

The creator of the USB Disk Ejector named Bennyboy from England listed all the operating systems that the program supports, as all listed below.

Windows XP
Windows Vista
Windows 7
Windows 8
Windows 10
Windows Server versions from 2003 onwards are untested by me but have been reported to work.
32 bit and 64 bit versions of all the above

USB Disk Ejector can do the following:

Eject the drive that the program is running from.
Eject a drive by specifying a drive letter.
Eject a drive by specifying a drive name.
Eject a drive by specifying a mountpoint
Eject a drive by specifying a partial drive name.

And the most important one is, the program is open source, meaning, you can check whether the program has hidden scripts or whatsoever that my intend to harm your computer or secretly benefiting the creator of the program. You can visit his Github page here.

Now, to start this tutorial, just follow the simple steps below.

1. Download first the USB Disk Ejector here.
